Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton move a step ahead in US Election 2016. Trump wins the South Carolina while Clinton wins in a tight race in Nevada. After winning the South Carolina primary in his race for president under the Republican banner, Trump has become a stronger contestant for his party’s nomination. On the other hand, in the Democratic contest, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders got defeated by Hillary Clinton in Nevada. It was quite a tight race between the two. Both these results now wait for March 1, the day when many more states would be making their choice.

Donald Trump defeated Jeb Bush. Bush is the former Governor of Florida and with this defeat has dropped out of the race. It was a major setback for Jeb Bush because just a few days back his brother and former President George W Bush appeared in a political forum to give a thrust to his promotional campaign. Jeb Bush finished fourth in the results fighting against Trump for the top position in presidential candidature from Republicans. Senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz tied at number two position in this result.

Hillary Clinton must be happy and relieved after winning in Nevada. After losing in New Hampshire, it was quite important and critical for her to win here in order to stay in the fray. Her next week results in South Carolina is substantially critical. That will get her start a winning spree which further will be helpful in riding to the nomination. On the other hand, a double-digit victory in New Hampshire and then getting the same pattern repeated in South Carolina are strong points in favour of Trump to boost his confidence. He had a close second-place finish in Iowa. But within Republican, he has been facing a strong resistance. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are still in a competitive position.

Donald Trump commented that it is quite tough running for president after he won in Spartanburg. His argument with the Pope in the context of Christian values had recently created some bitter taste. Republican would be eyeing on Florida Senator Marco Rubio as a leading candidate since Jeb Bush has quit. The fight between Clinton and Sanders had reached to an interesting turn. Till a few weeks back, Clinton was being perceived winning in Nevada in double digits. But the actual result was different. It was quite a close fight between the former secretary of state and the Vermont Senator. One of the main factors that are seen in this regard going in favour of Sanders was his calls for free university education. This could be an influencing factor for young voters resulting in a close win for Hillary Clinton. Overall, US Election 2016 music is full of surprises.
