Gas Subsidy And Other Political Decisions

Gas Subsidy And Other Political Decisions
Indian Decision Tank works in isolation. Indian politics is more of individualistic and personal centric. There is no accountability of a decision that was taken or a decision withdrawn. Gas Subsidy is the recent example. Political decisions need to have a meaningful approach and transparency.

Gas Subsidy And Other Political Decisions

India is a country of variety, vibrant moods, isolation and solo machoism. This is except in Indian Army, where it is all teamwork, group tasks and high level of discipline. Indian Army goes with complete coordination. On the other hand, our political leadership is more inclined towards former trends. The political decisions taken by our political leaders go haywire because of these reasons. The decisions taken are mostly short term. There are no mission or long-term goals. Prime focus stays on short term benefits in the most un-collaborated manner. The benefits intend to achieve personal goals rather than to benefit masses. In fact, masses are not taken into account. Indian decision tank works in isolation. Indian politics is more of individualistic and personal centric. There is no accountability of a decision was taken or a decision withdrawn.

When a political decision is taken, there has to be a project report with goals and projections. What is the target achievement? What are the stipulated timelines? What are the benefits? What are the risks perceived? Nothing of this sort happens. The same decision after some time gets reversed with another weird kind of reasoning. What that means is a disaster leading to diaspora and plethora. Is it a failure on behalf of the think tank who took the decision? Where is the mark sheet of the leader? How many decisions were taken so far have resulted into targeted achievements? How many failed? How many reversed?

Some wise person decided one fine day to give gas subsidy to all. It opened a Pandora box for many opportunity seekers and mafias. Without a proper control mechanism, the things get initiated and launched. Another wise man after some time comes into the picture (and power) to take a call in either reversing earlier decision or rectifying it. Again there are no structured documents that are produced. When decisions are being taken for the masses, the affected agencies have all rights to seek documents stating objectives, targets and projected achievements. Usually, in Indian scenario, everything is left to others. If things need to be analysed – let it be done by media, analysts or some third parties. Why can’t the initiating agencies produce analysis stating achievements or shortfalls?

There seem to be hidden agendas behind every decision taken, altered or reversed. Everything seems to be driven by some undisclosed agencies running the show for their personal motives.
